Certification: Microsoft MCSE - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
MCSE stands for Microsoft Certified Solution Expert. These are the exams that one has to appear to get certified with MCSE Share points certification which is basically regarded as one of the most prestigious as well as intellective certification given by the Microsoft. Basically a candidate appearing in this examination and passing the exam is able to get the job that is available in the Microsoft and the proficiency would be taken in network analysis.Basically the Microsoft doesn’t reveal the exact format of the MCSE exams. There are no specific lay out or format explaining how many questions will be asked or how much marks each term will carry. The only revelation that has been made is regarding the types of questions that the examination might bring on.
New rules or new question format the Microsoft has brought into practice makes it more interactive to the examinee but still some of the changes have made it quite hard to pass. Many reforms like Simulations and build and relist and hot –screen have made it a lot practical than the previous one.
As per their rules only basis criteria are revealed rather than the complete format. Some of the probable question types that might appear in the list of questions in new format is enlisted below.
1) Multiple Choice Question (Single Answer)
In this type of format that you might get in your exam, you are given multiple choices for a question and you are able to choose only one of them as the correct answer. The answer once chosen and confirmed cannot be changed to it is very necessary for you to be sure regarding it.Only one answer can be chosen. The number of multiple choice questions and the marks they carry are not revealed by the Microsoft for this latest format.
2) Multiple Choice Question (Multiple Answers )
In this type of question that is inclusive in the latest format one is asked to select more than one answer that might be exactly corresponding or somewhere near to the answers that the question is seeking for. You can find more than one or two answer in the list of options. Not just one but all the probable answer can be selected. But generally two or three options are the answers. All the options are rarely the right answers. Marks Distribution on this part is not yet exposed.
3) Best Answer:
In this type of question you will be given with set of options in which all of them seem to align with the questions. All the answers that you will see in the option seems to be the correct answers either ways. This is quite of the tough job as you have to select the best answers amongst all the set of answers which might seem to be correct answer as well. This is possible to be correctly done only if you have made a deep study regarding the topic. Surface study will do no help here.
4) Extended Matching
In this type of question, there will be problems or questions that are followed by some numbered options. The main task is to assign the corresponding match for the problems or questions. One number can be selected more than once as well. This is somewhat similar to the “Match the following “you used to see in your earlier classes but again this is quite an advanced way. Numbering is done to match the answers.
5) Hot-area
This is one of the innovative approach made my the Microsoft that will eradicate those who use alternate ways to pass.In this case the questions will be laid on the top of the screenshot and the mouse movement shows the activated region. You cannot move to the next frame until you scroll by frame to frame. This enables you to study each frame before you answer the questions. This is expected to enrich the real time exam experiences.
6) Drag And Drop
This type format the answers is to be simply dragged and dropped.Basically this is a new method so the Microsoft asks to have some better knowledge about this before appearing for examinations. The samples are available in YouTube as well.
7) Build list and reorder :
In this case, you will be provided the list of the steps that you might have to follow for particular actions. If you are intending to get something there will be the set of the steps which are obviously correct but not in the arranged form. The lists of actions are in mix max order and you are asked to re-arrange them in a particular format that may be the correct steps to get the procedure done. The only answer that re-lists or re-orders the answer in the correct way is taken to be right
8) Short Questions :
This is another format that might come in the exam where you will be asked to give the short answers of the questions that are set in the questions paper. The answer needs to be to the point and still it shouldn’t be too short. The answer must be short but still it should be able to address each point that the questions in fact seeks for.
Apart from the questions format, the latest format of the exam has also brought this slight change in the passing records. One has to at least cross the least passing score which is ascertain to be 700.Any marks which are less than 700 is regarded as “fail” and will not be qualified for certification.
Thus there is not any “final format layout” that has been given by the Microsoft. The only best ways is to prepare all the possible questions format and taking exam with complete realization that the pass mark is 700.
